Claus Helmer

Claus Helmer (born February 23, 1944 in Brno ) is an Austrian actor , director and theater director, lives and works in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

Already during his childhood in Vienna he appeared on almost every stage in this city, for the first time on March 13, 1956 in Jean D'Arc by Max Mell at the Burgtheater . From 1959 to 1962 he completed his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. In the period from 1956 to 1960 he was seen in 40 theater roles as well as in three feature films and several television productions. He received his first engagement in Germany (Düsseldorf) in 1962. From 1965 Claus Helmer worked as a freelance actor and director in Aachen, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Frankfurt am Main.

In 1965 he stood for the first time on the stage of the Small Theater in the Zoo at the side of the principal Fritz Rémond in Telemachos Clay . In 1967 Claus Helmer celebrated with When will you marry my wife? his debut in the comedy Frankfurt . Since 1972 he has been the director of this classic boulevard theater in the center of Frankfurt, which was founded in 1950 and presents comedies, taunts, musicals and well-known stars. With the new building in 1999, he created a modern, elegant theater with a foyer bar and its own bistro. The comedy not only has a permanent place in Frankfurt theater life, but is a nationwide well-known institution for entertainment theater.

In March 1995, Claus Helmer also took over the management of the Fritz Rémond Theater in the zoo and thus saved this traditional house, which was founded in 1947, from being closed. The only theater in the world in a zoological garden offered and still offers classical as well as contemporary plays in a sophisticated and entertaining way as well as encounters with the big names of the film and theater world - u. a. came here Martin Held , Curt Jurgens , Karlheinz Böhm , Hilde Krahl , Lil Dagover , Werner Finck , Willy Reichert , Louise Martini , Boy Gobert and Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff on.

Helmer is often on stage himself, B. in the Ken Ludwig comedies Cyrano in Buffalo and Othello must not burst or in Samuel Taylor's champagne comedy . On March 13, 2006 Claus Helmer celebrated his 50th anniversary on stage.

Claus Helmer is a founding member of the Lions Club Frankfurt Am Leonhardsbrunn and a member of the Frankfurt Society for Trade, Industry and Science ( Casino Society from 1802).
