Hans-Dieter Resch

Hans-Dieter Resch (born January 23, 1932 in Crimmitschau ) is a German composer and conductor .

Career

He studied composition, piano, conducting and music education at the Mozarteum Salzburg (1946/47) and at the Cologne University of Music . In 1957, Resch passed the state examination for music educators . In 1971 he became a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main , 1974 the vice-rector and 1975-1995 Rector . In 1992 he received the Goethe badge from the state of Hesse and in 1997 the Goethe badge from the city of Frankfurt. In 1999 he was guest of honor at the Villa Massimo in Rome. In 2003 he was made an honorary senator of the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2010 he received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.

As a composer he created works for orchestra, chamber music and choir as well as songs.
