Florian Wacker (* 1980 in Stuttgart ) is a German writer .

Life

During and after training to support workers and the study of special education Florian Wacker worked in the disability assistance , the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the youth services .

From 2010 to 2014 he studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . In 2010 he was the second winner of the MDR Literature Prize , in 2013 he won the Young Talent Prize at the Wartholz Literature Prize and received the Limburg Prize in 2015 . In 2017 he was city ​​clerk for children's and youth literature for the city of Mannheim .

In the fall of 2014 his book of short stories Albuquerque was published by the Hamburg publishing house mairisch . In the summer of 2015, the youth book Dahlenberger in the publishing house Jacoby & Stuart followed , which was awarded the Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize in the same year and, according to the weekly newspaper Die Zeit, is “a breathtaking book about a last summer”. In 2018 his novel Stromland was published by Berlin Verlag .

Florian Wacker lives in Frankfurt am Main and works as a web designer .
