Klaus A. Klang (born July 4, 1956 in Soltau ) is a German political official . From 2011 to 2016 he was State Secretary in the Ministry for State Development and Transport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and moved to the State Ministry of Finance in 2016.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Soltau in 1975 , Klang did his military service. From 1976 to 1981 he studied law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel and graduated with the first state examination. In 1986 he was promoted to Dr. jur. doctorate, 1987 followed the second state examination in law.

In 1983, Klang started working for the EU Commission in Brussels. From 1987 to 1991 he worked in the Lower Saxony state administration, initially with the Hanover district government and later in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior. In 1991 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior of Saxony-Anhalt as head of department. From 2003 until his appointment as State Secretary he headed the department responsible for local affairs and elections. Since 2006 he has also taken on the role of regional returning officer .

Klaus Klang is married and has three children.

Klang has been a member of the CDU since 1984 .

On April 20, 2011, Klang was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry for Regional Development and Transport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, led by Thomas Webel (CDU) ( Cabinet Haseloff I ). With the change of government in 2016, he moved to the Ministry of Finance.
