State Returning Officer

The state election supervisor is responsible for the proper conduct of the elections in the states of Germany . These include the European elections , the federal elections , the state elections and the local elections . He prepares the elections and announces the official final result. He informs the public of all election-related issues.

Baden-Württemberg

Since January 9, 2018 , Cornelia Nesch has been Head of the “Constitution, Parliamentary Elections, Law” department in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, Digitization and Migration .

Bavaria

The President of the Bavarian State Office for Statistics , Thomas Gößl, is currently the State Returning Officer.

Berlin

The State Returning Officer for Berlin is responsible for the proper preparation and implementation of all political elections as well as for determining and establishing the official election results in the State of Berlin. The regional returning officer is also the head of the regional voting (referendum, referendum).

North Rhine-Westphalia

The state returning officer heads the state election committee in North Rhine-Westphalia . This consists of the regional returning officer, his deputy and ten assessors (members of the regional parliament ). According to the state election law passed in 1993, it decides on the admission of state reserve lists for state elections.

In North Rhine-Westphalia the Land Returning Officer, the head of department in the Constitution's Ministry of Home Affairs and Local , the Ministry of the Interior of the country.

Saxony

The President of the State Statistical Office of the Free State of Saxony , Carolin Schreck, is currently the State Returning Officer.

Saxony-Anhalt

Schleswig − Holstein

As an independent electoral body, the state returning officer is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the European elections, the federal elections and the state elections in the state of Schleswig − Holstein.
