The Weil II cabinet has been the Lower Saxony state government under Prime Minister Stephan Weil ( SPD ) since November 22, 2017 . Based on the results of the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2017, it is supported by a coalition of the Lower Saxony SPD , which also provides the Prime Minister , and the CDU in Lower Saxony , which has 105 out of 137 members of the Lower Saxony state parliament . This cabinet replaced the Weil I cabinet, which had been in office since 2013 and which was based on a red-green coalition .
