Matthias Wunderling-Weilbier

Matthias Wunderling-Weilbier (born July 1, 1963 in Esbeck ) is a German political official . Since July 1, 2020 he has been State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development .

Life

In 1981 Wunderling-Weilbier began his professional career as a nursing assistant before completing training as a curative nurse from 1984 to 1987 . From August 1987 he held various positions at the Evangelical Foundation Neuerkerode , initially as a community service provider , later as a curative education nurse, director's assistant and employee as well as department head, from December 2001 he was a board member of the foundation. Between 1989 and 1997 he studied educational sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover and between 1998 and 2004, also part-time, a degree in economics at the Rendsburg University of Applied Sciences .

In November 2006 he became mayor of Schöningen . He held this post until October 2011, before he was elected District Administrator of the Helmstedt district. On January 1, 2014, Prime Minister Stephan Weil Wunderling-Weilbier appointed State Commissioner for Regional State Development Braunschweig , and on July 1, 2020 he was appointed State Secretary of the Lower Saxony Ministry for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development . There he succeeded Jutta Kremer .
