Berend Lindner (born May 5, 1975 in Celle ) is a German lawyer , political official and politician ( CDU ). Since November 22, 2017, he has been State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Digitization .

Life

After High School on school Ernestinum Celle (1994) and the military service in Neumünster and Celle (1994-1995) took Lindner in 1995 to study law and political science at the University of Goettingen and stepped 1997 into the CDU. He graduated in 2000 with the First State Examination and completed in sequence a doctoral program at the University of Göttingen, which he in 2001 with the promotion of Dr. iur. finished. This was followed by a master's degree at the University of Cambridge with an LL.M. , a legal clerkship in Lüneburg and Hamburg (2002–2004) as well as passing the second state examination in 2004.

From 2005, Lindner worked as a judge at the Lüneburg Regional Court and at the Tostedt District Court before becoming the personal assistant and office manager of Prime Minister Christian Wulff in the Lower Saxony State Chancellery in 2007 . On July 22, 2010, the lawyer was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court of Celle , but had been seconded to the Office of the Federal President since Christian Wulff took office as Federal President on July 1, 2010 . Lindner was head of the Speeches / Domestic Policy department there until 2011 , before he was appointed judge in Celle.

Berend Lindner left the Higher Regional Court in 2012 and became deputy parliamentary group manager and legal advisor of the CDU parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament . After the state elections in 2017 , he was appointed leader of the CDU parliamentary group and on November 22, 2017, Minister Bernd Althusmann appointed him to the state secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Digitization .
