Anke Pörksen (born June 24, 1966 in Krefeld ) is a German lawyer, politician (SPD) and, as State Secretary, spokeswoman for the state government of Lower Saxony since 2013 .

Life

After studying law in Freiburg and Geneva , she was a research assistant at the Freiburg Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law . After her legal clerkship , she entered the higher general administrative service of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg . From 1997 to 2013 she worked in Hamburg, first in the culture authority , then in the judicial authority and from 2002 to 2013 in the school authority .

Anke Pörksen is Catholic and describes herself as a “convinced Christian”. She is married to January Pörksen , the 2011 State of the Ministry of Labor, Family and Integration has the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The couple has two children.

Politics, honorary positions

Anke Pörksen was on the federal executive committee of the working group of social democratic lawyers from 2000 to 2013 and from 2010 to 2013 federal chairwoman. From 2010 to 2013 Poerksen was chairwoman of the Hamburg regional association of the civil rights organization Humanist Union .

In the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament election campaign in 2009 , the SPD top candidate Ralf Stegner presented her as a candidate for the office of Justice Minister.

On October 25, 2012, Stephan Weil introduced her to the state election in Lower Saxony in 2013 as Minister of Justice for his shadow cabinet . After the Red / Green election victory, the Ministry of Justice went to the Greens after the coalition negotiations . Antje Niewisch-Lennartz , nominated by the Greens, was appointed Minister of Justice on February 19, 2013. Pörksen has been the Lower Saxony government spokesperson since February 19, 2013.

Anke Pörksen is a member of the board of the Herbert Weichmann Foundation .

Positions

Anke Pörksen advocates better preparation of prisoners for the time after their release. She rejects privately run prisons. She advocates a consumer-oriented judicial policy and would like to narrow down the difficult-to-understand "legal German". She is also in favor of improving legal training and looking to review the workload of judges and prosecutors.
