The Cabinet Hans since March 1, 2018 is the Saarland state government consisting of CDU and SPD .
On February 19, 2018, the CDU chairwoman Angela Merkel nominated the Saarland Prime Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer for the office of Secretary General of the CDU. At the federal party conference of the CDU on February 26, 2018, Kramp-Karrenbauer was elected as the new CDU General Secretary.
On March 1, 2018, the Saarland Landtag elected the CDU parliamentary group chairman Tobias Hans (CDU) as the new Prime Minister with 40 votes . Following the election, the new cabinet was sworn in.
In the state parliament , the grand coalition has a two-thirds majority with 41 out of 51 seats .
