Jürgen Barke (born December 26, 1962 in Saarbrücken ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been State Secretary with cabinet rank in the Saarland Ministry of Economics, Labor, Energy and Transport since May 9, 2012 , and a deputy member of the German Federal Council since May 22, 2012 .

Jürgen Barke is married and has two children. He grew up in Schmelz and currently lives in Lebach .

Professional background

After successfully completing his dual university degree at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences as a graduate in administration, Jürgen Barke began his professional activity as a government inspector in 1986 as an official of the higher non-technical service at the Saarland Ministry of the Interior. In the same year he was transferred to what was then the Ministry of Economics, where he carried out most of his work in the area of ​​intervention administration (expropriation proceedings, compensation payments). In 1990 and 1991 he was able to gain his first experience in the administrative and political area through his work as a personal advisor to the State Secretary for Economic Affairs. From 1991 to 2001 Barke was the full-time first deputy of the city of Lebach and at the same time department head for the areas of construction, environment, social affairs and regulatory administration. During this time he closed u. a. Advanced training in corporate real estate at NACORE Business Corporate Real Estate Inc. (now GlobalCore Inc.). Barke chose state interventions in the real estate markets , long-term development trends in the real estate industry in Germany, strategic corporate management and financing, operational accounting and market failure - causes and solutions for real estate market segments - as the focus of further qualification . Then worked as HR manager and authorized signatory of the automotive supplier Michels GmbH.

In 2002 he founded Jürgen Barke Consult, Lebach, with a focus on project development and conversion management in the field of public and private investments, which he then brought into KomCon GmbH Lebach in 2003, of which he became the sole shareholder and managing director. After founding KomCon, he expanded his field of activity to include M&A consulting in corporate reorganization and restructuring processes and fiduciary management of investments.

In 2012 he became State Secretary with the rank of cabinet in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, Energy and Transport.

Party activity

Jürgen Barke is deputy chairman of the SPD in Lebach. Between 2011 and 2013 he held the office of treasurer of the SPD Saar.
