Henrik Eitel

Henrik Eitel (born June 30, 1977 ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and political official . Since October 30, 2019, he has been State Secretary in charge of the Saarland State Chancellery as well as Saarland's representative at the federal government . In these functions he is a further member of the Saarland state government .

Life

After graduating from high school (1997), Eitel began studying information science with minor subjects in business informatics and American studies at Saarland University , which he completed in April 2006 with a master's degree. From 2001 to 2006 he was a research assistant at Saarland University. As a result, he worked in various functions in the regional office of the CDU Saar , before he acted as its regional manager from October 2010 to June 2014. In June 2014 he moved to the Saarland state administration, where he was the office manager of Prime Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer until June 2017 and from May 2015 he was also head of Section C / 8 "Coordination of regional politics, topic-related working groups and inter-ministerial working groups", before he took over the management of the “Coordination and Media” department in July 2017.

On October 30, 2019, Henrik Eitel was appointed to the Hans cabinet by Prime Minister Tobias Hans as State Secretary . In this position, he succeeded Jürgen Lennartz as head of the Saarland State Chancellery and representative of the Saarland at the federal level as well as a member of the Federal Council .

Eitel is married and has two children. He lives in Neunkirchen (Saar) .
