Jürgen Lennartz

Jürgen Lennartz (born January 18, 1957 in Düren ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After graduating from high school in 1976, Lennartz studied law at the University of Cologne . After his first state examination in 1982, he completed his legal clerkship in Cologne, Aachen and Düren and passed his second state examination in 1985. He then worked as a lawyer and then worked for the Federal Environment Ministry from 1987 to 1999 . From 1999 to 2005 Lennartz was head of the planning, law and coordination department in the Saarland State Chancellery . From 2005 to 2019 he was the representative of the Saarland at the federal government .

On May 9, 2012, Jürgen Lennartz was appointed head of the State Chancellery (CdS) by the Saarland Prime Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer with the rank of State Secretary . He has also been a member of the Federal Council since May 22, 2012 .

On October 30, 2019, Lennartz was put into temporary retirement and left the Saarland state service.
