Clemens Hoch (born January 5, 1978 in Andernach ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and head of the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate with the rank of State Secretary .

Life

Clemens Hoch attended the Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium in Andernach from 1988 to 1997 and graduated from high school. After doing community service at Caritas , he studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn from 1998 to 2003 and spent a guest semester as an Erasmus student in Prague . In June 2006, he was admitted as a lawyer and worked until 2013 in a law firm. Clemens Hoch is married to the architect Sandra Hoch. The couple has three children.

Mandates and offices

From May 18, 2006, Clemens Hoch was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , after he had the direct mandate in constituency 11 (Andernach) with 45.6% of the valid constituency votes in the election for the 15th state parliament on March 26, 2006 for the SPD had achieved. Five years later, in the election for the 16th state parliament on March 27, 2011, he lost his constituency to Hedi Thelen ( CDU ), but nevertheless moved into the state parliament over 25th place on the SPD state list. On January 16, 2013, he left the state parliament to take on the position of head of department 4 (department coordination, state parliament) in the state chancellery. This also made him permanent representative of the head of the State Chancellery, Jacqueline Kraege . Marc Ruland took over the state parliament mandate from Clemens Hoch . In the course of the government reshuffle on November 12, 2014, Hoch rose to head the State Chancellery with the rank of State Secretary .

On March 13, 2016, Clemens Hoch was re-elected to the state parliament in the election for the 17th state parliament. He was able to recapture constituency 11 (Andernach) from the CDU with a lead of 1.3% of the constituency votes. Since he also belonged to the new government as head of the state chancellery, he renounced the mandate; Marc Ruland again moved up for him on the state list.

Hoch joined the SPD in 1996 and was initially managing director of the SPD in Andernach from 1997 to 2000, then from 1998 to 2000 deputy chairman and financial officer of the Jusos in the Rhineland district and in the Rhineland-Palatinate regional association . During the same period he took over the business of the SPD parliamentary group in Andernach (1999 to 2004) and was also deputy chairman of the SPD Andernach until 2007 and deputy chairman of the SPD in the Mayen-Koblenz district until 2009.

Local politics

From 1999 to 2015 he was a member of the city council in Andernach and the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Andernach, from 2004 to 2014 he was parliamentary group leader of the SPD in Andernach city council and from 2009 to 2015 district chairman of the SPD Mayen-Koblenz.
