Marc Ruland
Marc Ruland (born September 12, 1981 in Andernach ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since 2013 .
Life and work
Ruland attended the Pfarrer-Bechtel primary school in Mendig from 1987 and the Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium in Andernach from 1991 to 2001 . After graduating from high school, he did his community service in Haus Hohenlinden in Remagen and studied law at the University of Bonn .
Ruland is a Roman Catholic, a member of IG Metall and, among other things, belongs to the Friends of the Benedictine Abbey of Maria-Laach .
Political career
In 1999 he joined the SPD. Ruland was chairman of the Jusos in Andernach (2002–2005) and in the Mayen-Koblenz district (2004–2007), in 2005 he was elected to the Juso state board of Rhineland-Palatinate. In 2007 he became deputy chairman of the SPD in Andernach, which he has chaired since 2011. Since 2009 he has been a member of the state party council. In 2015, Ruland became district chairman of the SPD Mayen-Koblenz.
In 2009 he was elected to the Andernach City Council and the Mayen-Koblenz District Council. Since 2011 he has been deputy parliamentary group leader in the Andernach city council before taking over the chairmanship there in 2014.
From 2003, Ruland was a constituency officer for various members of parliament, until 2006 with member of the state parliament Gernot Mittler , then until 2009 with state parliament member Clemens Hoch , and finally until 2013 with member of the Bundestag Andrea Nahles .
On January 17, 2013, he replaced Clemens Hoch in the state parliament, as he moved to the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate . After the state elections in 2016 , in which Ruland was initially not re-elected, he moved up again for Hoch for the constituent meeting on May 18, 2016. In the state parliament he is a full member of the Committee for Education, Law and Consumer Protection. He is a deputy member of the state data protection commission and the judges' selection committee. His constituency office is in the Werner Klein House in Andernach.
