Jan Benedyczuk

Jan Benedyczuk (born August 12, 1974 in Trier ) is a German political official and politician ( SPD ). Since September 25, 2019, he has been State Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Culture of Saarland .

Life

education

After attending the Bruchwiese elementary school (1980–1984) and the German-French high school in Saarbrücken (1984–1993), Benedyczuk completed community service in the Saarbrücken-Eschberg day care center from 1993 to 1995 . He then studied journalism , political science and public law at the University of Mainz , which he completed in 2000 as a Magister Artium . From 1997 to 1998 he studied at the press institute of the Panthéon-Assas University in Paris , and from 2001 to 2003 a master’s degree in public administration at the École nationale d'administration .

Professional background

During his studies, Benedyczuk worked as a research assistant for the SPD parliamentary group in the Saarland state parliament in 1999 and as a research assistant in Jo Leinen 's parliamentary office in 2001 . In 2004 he became a mirror consultant for the environment and forestry in the Representation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate at the federal level , in 2006 he moved to the Ministry for the Environment of Rhineland-Palatinate , where he subsequently acted as Head of Cabinet, State Parliament and Federal Council matters. After working as head of the government relations department at juwi in 2012 , Benedyczuk returned to the civil service in 2013. Until 2015, he acted as a consultant for fundamental economic policy issues as well as a mirror consultant for the Ministry of the Environment in the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate , before he moved to the Ministry of the Interior and Sports in Rhineland-Palatinate as Head of Parliament and Cabinet Affairs . In 2017 he took over the management of the office of Minister Stefanie Hubig in the Ministry of Education of Rhineland-Palatinate .

On September 18, 2019, he was appointed by the newly appointed Minister Christine Streichert-Clivot as her successor to the position of State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture.

Private

Jan Benedyczuk is married and has two children.
