Christian Seel (Ministerial Officer)

Christian Seel (* 1971 ) is a German lawyer and political official . Since 2015 he has been State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of the Interior, Building and Sport .

Life

After graduating from high school (1990) and military service as a reserve officer (1990-1992), Seel began studying law in 1992 , which he completed in 1997 with the first state examination. This was followed by legal clerkship at the Saarland Higher Regional Court and the completion of the second state examination (1997–1999) and, between 1999 and 2003, the post as personal advisor and press spokesman in the Saarland Ministry of Justice .

From 2003 to 2004 he was a judge at the district court in Lebach and between 2004 and 2005 at the district court in Saarbrücken . After the lawyer had worked from 2005 to 2006 as head of internal service, organization and IT as well as deputy head of department in the Ministry of Justice, Health and Social Affairs of the Saarland , he was head of the personnel, budget and organization department there (2007-2009) and in the same Ministry Head of Personnel, Budget, Organization Department (2009–2014). At the same time, Seel was the budget officer and, from 2006, chairman of the state personnel committee. He held this post until his appointment as State Secretary.

In the course of a restructuring of the Kramp-Karrenbauer II cabinet , Christian Seel was appointed State Secretary of the Saarland Ministry of the Interior and Sport by Minister Klaus Bouillon on January 1, 2015 . He succeeded Georg Jungmann .

Seel is a member of the CDU . As an assessor, he is a member of the federal board of lawyers within the CDU in Germany.

Christian Seel is married and lives in Saarbrücken .
