In the spring of 1959 - during the third legislative period of the state parliament - the previous coalition of CDU, SPD and DPS dissolved; After 1956, the DPS went from government to opposition for the second time in this period. Instead, the factions of the CDU, SPD and CVP formed an alliance. Prime Minister Reinert therefore reshaped his government. After Reinert's death on April 23, 1959, the coalition was continued by Franz-Josef Röder from April 30, 1959 .
