The 8th Tour of Taihu Lake 2017 was a Chinese road bike race . The stage race took place from October 10th to 18th, 2017 . In addition, the bike race was part of the UCI Asia Tour 2017 and was classified in category 2.1 . Overall winner was the Italian Jakub Mareczko from Wilier Triestina .
The Canadian Guillaume Boivin (Israel Cycling Academy) won the prologue in 6:12 minutes ahead of the Romanian Serghei Țvetcov . Boivin took over the overall management. The first stage around Wuxi was won by the Italian Nicolas Marini (Nippo) in the mass sprint ahead of Ryan MacAnally (Australia / H&R Block). Boivin kept the overall lead.
Jakub Mareczko (Italy / Wilier Triestina) won the mass sprint on stages two to four. On the third stage, Nicolas Marini won the yellow jersey due to bonuses from Boivin. Mareczko again secured the overall lead on stage four.
Jon Aberasturi (Spain / Ukyo) was the winner of the mass sprint on stage five, ahead of Mareczko, who defended the overall lead.
The last two stages were again secured by Mareczko in a mass sprint, who kept the overall lead until the end and won the entire tour.
