Cistercian convent of Santa Ana (Brihuega)
The Cistercian Monastery of Santa Ana is a 1615 monastery of Cistercian nuns in Brihuega, province of Guadalajara , Spain.
history
The Santa Ana monastery in Brihuega (25 km northeast of Guadalajara ) was founded in 1615 by wealthy aristocrats and settled by nuns from the Cistercian monastery of San Joaquín y Santa Ana (Valladolid) . In 1969 the nuns moved into a new building in the Paseo de la Princesa . The sisters entertain each other by making and selling art objects. Abbess Matilde Fernández Donoso resigned from her position on October 15, 2017 due to reasons of age.
