The Team Novo Nordisk is a US-based cycling team based in Atlanta .

The team was founded in 2008 and took part as the UCI Continental Team in particular in the UCI America Tour and UCI Asia Tour bike races. The manager is Vasily Dawidenko , who is supported by the sports directors Massimo Podenzana , Paolo Artuso and Pawel Cherkassow. The team will be equipped with Colnago bicycles . The former team name Type 1 stands for Type 1 of the diabetes disease. The team is supported by pharmaceutical sponsors who manufacture insulin and other products. Since the 2011 season, the team has been a UCI Professional Continental Team at the start.

For the 2013 season, the Danish pharmaceutical manufacturer Novo Nordisk replaced the French company Sanofi as the name sponsor. In 2013 the team consisted of 17 type 1 diabetics. Management stated the goal to compete in the Tour de France in 2021 .
