UCI Asia Tour 2012

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The UCI Asia Tour is the Asian road cycling calendar introduced by the World Cycling Association Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) for the 2005 season below the UCI ProTour (since 2011: UCI WorldTour ) and is part of the UCI Continental Circuits . The seventh season begins on October 1, 2011 and ends on September 30, 2012.

The one-day races and stage races of the UCI Asia Tour are divided into three categories (HC, 1 and 2). In each race, points are awarded for a rating. The Professional Continental Teams and the Continental Teams take part in this evaluation . ProTeams can also take part in the individual races, but the positions achieved by ProTeam drivers are not taken into account for the ranking.

The UCI announced on January 26, 2012 that the three Asian Continental Teams Tabriz Petrochemical Team , Terengganu Cycling Team and Azad University had the right to start all races in the first and second UCI categories due to their placement in a fictional ranking at the start of the season .
