Andrea Guardini (born June 12, 1989 in Tregnago ) is an Italian track and road cyclist .
Career
Andrea Guardini won the bronze medal in the team sprint at the Junior European Track Cycling Championships in 2006. At the Italian championship in 2007 he won the national title in sprint and team sprint (together with Stefano Melegaro and Elia Viviani ). He was also the 2007 European Junior Champion in Keirin .
On the road, Guardini won a stage at Tre Ciclistica Bresciana in 2007 . In the 2009 season he won the bronze medal in road racing at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara . He also won the V. Mantovani Memorial. In 2010 he won the third stage of the Baby Giro . At the beginning of the 2011 season he celebrated his first five stage wins at the Tour de Langkawi and another one at the Tour of Qatar . In spring he won two stages of the Tour of Turkey , where he prevailed against sprinters like Alessandro Petacchi and Tyler Farrar .
In 2012, Guardini achieved his first stage victory in one of the great country tours with a sprint victory over Mark Cavendish on the 18th stage of the Giro d'Italia . Up to and including 2018 he had 42 wins, 24 of which were stage wins at the Malaysian Tour de Langkawi .
