The Giro Ciclistico d'Italia (originally: Giro d'Italia Dilettanti , at times also Girobio - Giro d'Italia Dilettanti , Girobio - Giro d'Italia Dilettanti under 27 ), unofficially also called Baby Giro , is an Italian road bike race , a shortened version for young riders on the three-week Giro d'Italia tour .

After the stage race was initially reserved for amateurs , after the introduction of the standard license, participation was finally limited to drivers who had not yet reached the age of 26.

Among the winners there are many drivers who were later very successful, such as Marco Pantani , Danilo Di Luca , Gilberto Simoni , Piotr Ugrumow or Francesco Moser . The race was held for the first time in 1970 and has taken place annually since then, with the exception of 1987 until 2004. Between 2005 and 2008 it was only held in 2006 and then held annually again. After the 2012 edition finally suffered from financial problems, the 2013 race was no longer held. It was part of the UCI Europe Tour and was classified in category 2.2.

After a four-year break, the competition was re-included in the international calendar as a U23 race in category 2.2U of the Europe Tour.
