World Ports Classic
The World Ports Classic is a Dutch - Belgian cycle race that has been held between the port cities of Antwerp and Rotterdam since 2012 . The stage race is part of the UCI Europe Tour and is divided into category 2.1. It is organized by the French sports event organizer Amaury Sport Organization (ASO).
The race starts in Rotterdam and the first stage ends in Antwerp. The next day it goes in the opposite direction. In the intermediate sprints and at the finish, the first three drivers are given time bonuses. Due to the flat topography of the route, the stages often end in a mass sprint .
In 2012 and 2013 the World Ports Classic was held at the end of August, and since 2014 the race has been held at the end of May.
