Tour of Japan
The Tour of Japan ( Japanese ツ ア ー ・ オ ブ ・ ジ ャ パ ン , Tsuā obu Japan ), in short: TOJ, is a cycling race in Japan . The short tour leads through the country in around seven stages. The race has been held regularly since 1996. In 2003 there was no event due to the risk of SARS . In 2011 the race was canceled due to the natural disaster in Japan. The organizers said that the infrastructure required for the race had been destroyed. The race is part of the UCI Asia Tour and has category 2.2 .
