Jakub Mareczko (born April 30, 1994 in Jarosław ) is an Italian racing cyclist of Polish origin. He wins his races primarily in the sprint.
Career
Jakub Mareczko's family left Poland when he was five years old and moved to Brescia , Italy. After winning several smaller Italian one-day races in 2013 and 2014 , he received a professional contract with Neri Sottoli for 2015 . He immediately won two stages each at the Vuelta al Táchira and Vuelta a Venezuela . In autumn 2015 he won the overall classification, the points classification, the junior classification and seven stages of the Tour of Taihu Lake in China .
Several stage victories in the following year. There were two stages in the Tour of Turkey 2016 , three stages in the Tour of Qinghai Lake 2016 , one stage in the Tour de San Luis 2016 and a few more. He also contested his first Grand Tour , the Giro d'Italia 2016 , but had to end it prematurely after the fifth stage. At the UCI Road World Championships in 2016 , he won bronze in the U23 road race. He then achieved three stage wins in the 2016 Tour of Taihu Lake .
Mareczko won the overall standings and five stages of the 2017 Tour of Taihu Lake . He was also successful in other international stage races in 2017 and 2018. Among other things, he won five stages of the Tour of Hainan 2017 plus one stage in 2018 and six stages of the Tour of Morocco 2018. In 2019, he switched to the CCC team .
