Kazushige Kuboki ( Japanese 窪 木 一 茂 , Kuboki Kazushige ; born June 6, 1989 , Fukushima Prefecture ) is a Japanese cyclist who is active on the road and track.
Career
Kazushige Kuboki first attracted attention when he finished eighth overall in the 2007 Tour de l'Abitibi , a junior stage race in Canada .
In 2011 he won bronze at the Asian Championships in the individual pursuit, in the team sprint and in the team pursuit. The following year, Kuboki was Japanese championship points race. At the Asian Cycling Championships in 2013 he won silver in the team pursuit and bronze in the Omnium. In 2014 Kazushige became national champion in omnium. He also won bronze in the team pursuit at the Asian Cycling Championships in 2013. On the road, he won the points classification at the Tour de Hokkaidō .
In 2015 he became the national road racing champion, his biggest success on the road so far. He then got a contract with the Italian second division Nippo-Vini Fantini for the following year . Once again he won silver in the team pursuit at the Asian cycling championships in 2015 and 2016 .
In 2016 he started at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on the track in the Omnium and finished 14th in 2018 he was Japanese champion in the individual time trial , in 2020 with Ryo Chikatani , Shunsuke Imamura , Eiya Hashimoto and Keitaro Sawada Asian champion in the team pursuit.
