Eiya Hashimoto ( Japanese 橋本 英 也 Hashimoto Eiya ; born December 15, 1993 in Gifu ) is a Japanese cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
Since the beginning of the 2010s, Eiya Hashimoto was one of the best cyclists in his country; he achieved his greatest successes on the track. In 2013 he won a silver medal at the Asian cycling championships in the team pursuit and at the East Asian Games in the single pursuit . In 2014 he won bronze in the team pursuit at the Asian Games with Shogo Ichimaru , Kazushige Kuboki and Ryo Chikatani . At the UCI Track World Championships in 2016 , he finished seventh in the points race , and in 2018 he was tenth in the Omnium .
In 2018, Hashimoto became Asian champion for the first time with a victory in the Omnium and won this discipline at the Asian Games in the same year. In 2019 and 2020 he was again Asian omnium champion, and in 2020 in the team pursuit.
Hashimoto also started several times in Japanese road championships.
