The Lower Saxony Ministry of Finance is one of ten ministries in the state of Lower Saxony , which is based in the Lower Saxony state capital Hanover . It is housed in the listed former provincial estate building on Schiffgraben . The ministry has been headed by Reinhold Hilbers ( CDU ) since 2017 , with Doris Nordmann as State Secretary .
tasks
The ministry is responsible for drawing up the budget for the state of Lower Saxony. It is also responsible for the state's involvement in federal tax legislation. The Department of Finance also includes the Lower Saxony State Office for Remuneration and Supply , the Lower Saxony State Tax Office with the tax offices and the Lower Saxony State Office for Construction and Real Estate. The Ministry of Finance manages the state's holdings in Volkswagen AG , Norddeutsche Landesbank , Deutsche Messe AG , Salzgitter AG and other companies. It also oversees the Lower Saxony casinos and administers the state baths.

- Unit group VD: Central services, financial public service law, collective bargaining law, administrative costs
- Department 1: Budget, Medium-Term Planning
- Department 2: State Construction Management, Real Estate, Money and Credit Business, Certifying Body, State Main Treasury
- Department 3: Taxes, tax advisory professions, organization of tax administration, tax policy
- Department 4: Assets and Financing, Financial Policy, Fundamental Issues of Financial Constitution, Financial Control
