Hartmut Möllring (born December 31, 1951 in Groß Ilsede ) is a German CDU politician. From 1990 to 2013 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and from 2003 to 2013 Lower Saxony's finance minister . From 2013 to 2016 he was Minister for Science and Economy of the State of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Möllring made in 1970 at the Scharnhorst School in Hildesheim, the High School and went as a soldier on time for two years Bundeswehr . He then studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Georg August University of Göttingen . After completing his legal traineeship, he worked as a judge and public prosecutor . From 1984 until his election to the state parliament in 1990, he worked in the Ministry of Justice as a personal advisor, budget officer and press spokesman. He has been a member of the CDU since 1972 and was chairman of the CDU district association Hildesheim until 2012.

Hartmut Möllring has been married to the former member of the Bundestag Eva Möllring since 1980 . From this marriage there were three children; His son Gregor is politically active in Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

Möllring was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1990 to 2013 . He was most recently directly elected in the Hildesheim constituency. From 1998 to 2003 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, responsible for finances, economy, environment, leisure and tourism , spas, ports and shipping . From 2003 to 2013 he was Lower Saxony's Minister of Finance . In this function he was also chairman of the supervisory board of Norddeutsche Landesbank , deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Bremer Landesbank and Deutsche Messe AG and a member of the Federal Council . Möllring was also chairman of the collective bargaining association of German states and a member of the supervisory board of Salzgitter AG . In the state election in 2013 , he did not appear again.

On April 22, 2013, he succeeded Birgitta Wolff as Minister for Science and Economics of the State of Saxony-Anhalt in the Haseloff I cabinet . At the coalition negotiations after the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016 between the CDU, SPD and the Greens ( Kenya coalition ), his department went to the SPD politician Jörg Felgner , who replaced him on April 25, 2016. Möllring returned to Hanover.

He is also president of the Eintracht Hildesheim sports club .
