Jürgen Gramke

Jürgen Gramke (born October 12, 1939 in Schlochau , West Prussia ) is a German administrative lawyer and politician (SPD).

Life

Gramke studied law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and became a member of the Corps Holsatia in 1960 . After passing the assessor exam in Kiel in 1968 and becoming a Dr. iur. had received his doctorate , he entered the higher service of Schleswig-Holstein . In 1970 he became head of administration for the city of Altena . From 1978 to 1994 he was the head of administration of the Ruhr Area Municipal Association . He was co-founder and subsequently coordinator of the Initiativkreis Ruhrgebiet. It was founded together with Alfred Herrhausen and Rudolf von Bennigsen-Foerder , CEO of VEBA AG. As a member of the SPD, Gramke became Minister of Economics and Technology for the State of Saxony-Anhalt in 1994 ( Höppner I cabinet ). He resigned after only three months. Gramke was a co-founder and supervisory board member of the security company Prevent AG, which was accused of dubious business practices and which subsequently went bankrupt. Since 1995 he has been chairman of the board of the Institute for European Affairs (INEA). Former EU Commission President Jacques Santer , former Slovakian President Rudolf Schuster , former Austrian Chancellors Franz Vranitzky and Viktor Klima, former Turkish Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz , former Norwegian Foreign Minister Bjørn Tore Godal and the former Slovenian work in the leadership of this Europe-wide institute Foreign Minister Ivo Vajgl , the former Bulgarian ambassador and deputy prime minister Meglena Plugtschieva and the former Finnish trade minister Eero Rantala . The institute organized major European conferences, including a. in Oslo, Istanbul etc. and has carried out over 80 ambassador forums so far. Also associated with INEA is the chairmanship of the "Corporate Compliance in Germany" working group (members are representatives of major companies, federal judges, attorney general, etc.). Since 2012 Gramke has also been chairman of the Presidential Council of the Björn Steiger Foundation (members of the Presidential Council are: Kurt Bodewig , Sigmar Gabriel , Rüdiger Grube , Günther Oettinger , Klaus-Dieter Scheurle )
