Klaus-Dieter Scheurle (born October 31, 1954 in Bad Cannstatt ) is a German lawyer and chairman of the management team at Deutsche Flugsicherung .

Life

Klaus-Dieter Scheurle studied law at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . In 1983 he passed his second state examination in Bavaria with distinction. He then entered the civil service in the Federal Ministry of Justice . From 1985 he worked in the Bavarian State Ministry for Federal and European Affairs . From 1989 to 1993 he was active in the CDU / CSU parliamentary group as office manager of the chairman of the CSU regional group in the German Bundestag, until the end of 1994 he was office manager of the last post minister, Wolfgang Bötsch (CSU). In 1995 he became head of the policy department in the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications (BMPT), and from 1997 head of the regulation department. On January 1, 1998, he became the founding president of the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Post (RegTP) (from 2005 Federal Network Agency), newly established from the BMPT and the Federal Office for Post and Telecommunications (BAPT ); The main task was the regulation of the telecommunications market in Germany, in the implementation of which he decided to auction the UMTS licenses . Until 2008 he worked for the Swiss investment bank Credit Suisse . Since 2005 he has been an honorary professor at the Faculty of Business Administration at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

On November 5, 2009, Klaus-Dieter Scheurle was appointed State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) by Peter Ramsauer . In this capacity Scheurle was a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Bahn AG. He held this position until October 21, 2012; State Secretary Michael Odenwald was appointed his successor on October 22, 2012 .

On January 1, 2013, Scheurle changed to the management of Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS), whose supervisory board chair he previously served as State Secretary.

On June 1, 2018, Klaus-Dieter Scheurle was elected President of the Federal Association of the German Aviation Industry (BDL) . He held this position until May 31, 2020; Peter Gerber was appointed as his successor .

Scheurle is a member of the Ludwig Erhard Foundation . Since 1975 he has been a member of the Catholic student union KDStV Markomannia Würzburg in the CV .
