Jochen Homann (* 1953 in Rotenburg an der Wümme ) is a German political official and has been President of the Federal Network Agency since March 1, 2012 . From 2008 to 2012 he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology .

After graduating from the Ratsgymnasium in Rotenburg an der Wümme, Homann studied economics from 1974 to 1978 and then worked for four years as a scientific employee at the HWWA Institute for Economic Research. In 1982 he moved to what was then the Federal Ministry of Economics, where he worked as a speaker for nine years until 1991 with a one-year break. Here he was initially responsible for business cycle analyzes in the economic policy policy department.

After working for one year in the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the EC in Brussels , he worked in the foreign trade department. From 1987 to 1990 he worked as a speechwriter under the FDP ministers Martin Bangemann and Helmut Haussmann . In 1991, Homann moved to the Federal Chancellery for ten years as head of the policy department in the Economic and Financial Policy Department .

In 2001 he returned to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor. There he initially took over the management of the foreign trade policy policy department for three years and in 2004 became head of the department for economic and structural policy research. In 2006 he was appointed head of the department for economic policy in what is now again the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

In 2008 he was appointed permanent state secretary. In this position he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dena .

Jochen Homann is married and has three children.
