Peter Gerber (Manager)

Peter Gerber (born March 1, 1964 in Giessen ) is a German manager. He has been CEO of Lufthansa Cargo AG since May 2014 .

Career

After graduating from high school, he studied law and business administration in Gießen and Hagen from 1983 . In addition, he completed a senior executive program at Columbia University in New York in 2008 .

In 1992 Gerber started working for Lufthansa . After various positions between 2001 and 2004, Gerber took on responsibility for the group-wide "D-Check" program to secure results. In 2004 he was also responsible for strategic corporate development. From December 2004 to May 2009, Gerber was in charge of collective bargaining policy and social security at the Lufthansa Group before he was appointed to the Lufthansa Cargo AG Executive Board in June 2009 . Here he was responsible for the finance and human resources department. In June 2012 Gerber moved to the Executive Board of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines (Human Resources, IT & Services)

After moving to the executive board of Lufthansa Passenger Airline , he returned to the executive board of Lufthansa Cargo AG in May 2014 and took over the chairmanship there.

Peter Gerber is married and has two children.

Award

In 2017, Peter Gerber was named “Air Cargo Executive of the Year” by the air freight magazine “Air Cargo World” and honored for the redesign of Lufthansa Cargo .
