Rainhard Lukowitz

Rainhard Lukowitz (born February 8, 1950 in Schkopau ) is a German politician and former FDP member in the state of Saxony-Anhalt . In 1993/94 he was Economics Minister of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After successfully completing secondary school , Rainhard Lukowitz studied industrial engineering at the TU Dresden from 1968 to 1972. From 1972 to 1982 he worked in a civil engineering office in the Halle district . He has been self-employed since 1994 and is now a consultant business economist .

Political party

Rainhard Lukowitz joined the NDPD in 1968 . From 1995 to 2003 he was treasurer and member of the executive board of the FDP in Saxony-Anhalt. He resigned from the FDP on November 1, 2007.

Public offices

Rainhard Lukowitz was mayor of Quedlinburg from 1982 to 1990 . In the CDU / FDP government under Prime Minister Christoph Bergner , Lukowitz was Minister for Economics, Technology and Transport for the State of Saxony-Anhalt from 1993 to 1994. In 2002 he was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . He was parliamentary group chairman from 2002 to 2004 . From 2004 to 2006 he was the spokesman for media policy for the FDP parliamentary group and was responsible for Quedlinburg. In the state election in 2006 , he did not run again. In the election for Mayor of Quedlinburg in 2008, Lukowitz ran again as an independent individual applicant with the support of the CDU, but was clearly defeated by the incumbent Eberhard Brecht (50.5 to 17.8 percent of the votes).
