Hans-Herbert Haase

Hans-Herbert Haase (born March 21, 1927 in Halle (Saale) ; † September 4, 2011 ) was a German doctor , university professor and politician ( FDP ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

Hans-Herbert Haase attended the humanistic grammar school and studied pharmacy and medicine after graduating from high school. He completed his studies with a doctorate. After graduating, he worked as a pharmacist, general practitioner, specialist in hygiene and as a senior physician at the Hygiene Institute of the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . There he rose to become a lecturer, professor and director of the institute. He was also treasurer of the historical commission for Saxony-Anhalt and member of the gymnastics club Saxo-Thuringia Halle.

Hans-Herbert Haase was of Protestant denomination, married and had three children.

Hans-Herbert Haase (who happened to be born on the same day and in the same town as Hans-Dietrich Genscher ) joined the FDP-Ost after the fall of the Berlin Wall in February 1990 and became chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt regional association. After merging with the Bund Free Democrats and the German Forum Party, in September 1990 he became deputy state chairman of the FDP Saxony-Anhalt . In the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990, he was elected to the state parliament via the state list. In the state parliament he was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group.
