Hinrich Swieter

Hinrich Swieter (born June 28, 1939 in Grimersum ; † July 19, 2002 in Norden ) was a German politician ( SPD ). He was district administrator of the district of Aurich and Lower Saxony Finance Minister .

Life

Swieter attended elementary and business school until 1956. He then completed an apprenticeship and then worked as an industrial clerk at Energieversorgung Weser-Ems AG in Oldenburg. In 1964 he joined the SPD. Five years later he was elected to the SPD sub-district executive committee north and belonged to the sub-district executive committee Aurich after the restructuring caused by the municipal reform . In 1972, in the course of the regional reform, the previously independent municipality Westermarsch became a district of the north. Swieter became a member of the North City Council, to which he belonged until his death. He was also elected deputy mayor and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group . In 1976 Swieter became district administrator for the north district , after the merger of the north and Aurich districts in 1978, district administrator for the Aurich district.

Swieter entered the Lower Saxony state parliament on June 21, 1982 , to which he was a member from the tenth to the end of the twelfth electoral term on June 20, 1994. From 1990 to 1996 he was Lower Saxony's State Minister for Finance. Swieter was also chairman of the administrative board of Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Norden and a member of the supervisory board of Bremer Landesbank.
