Johann Haddinga

Johann Haddinga (born November 26, 1934 in Norden ) is a journalist and author in the city ​​of Norden in Lower Saxony .

Life

Johann Haddinga grew up in the north of East Friesland . He attended the Ulrichsgymnasium in Norden and graduated from high school there in 1955. After an internship he became editor of the Ostfriesen-Zeitung in Leer. From 1959 he was editor and from 1968 deputy editor-in-chief of the Nordsee-Zeitung in Bremerhaven .

From 1983 to 1999 Haddinga worked as editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Ostfriesischer Kurier . Even after retiring, Haddinga remained active as an author. He is the author of various publications and books about East Friesland.

Haddinga was awarded the Lower Saxony Cross of Merit in 1999 and the Ubbo Emmius Medal of the East Frisian Landscape in 2006.
