Heiger Scholz

Heiger Scholz (born May 30, 1957 in Warburg ) is a German administrative lawyer , political official and politician ( SPD ). He has been State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equality since November 22, 2017 .

Life

education

After graduating from the Felix-Klein-Gymnasium Göttingen (1976) and the subsequent civilian service at the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in Göttingen (1976–1978), Scholz began studying law , which he did between 1978 and 1984 at the universities of Göttingen and Freiburg and graduated with the First State Examination (1984). This was followed by a legal clerkship in the higher regional court district of Celle (1984–1987) and the passing of the second state examination in law (1987).

Political career

From 1987 and 1990 Heiger Scholz was the managing director of the SPD district parliamentary group in the Hanover district, became city ​​councilor in the Lower Saxony community of Seelze in 1990 and city ​​director there in 1995 . He held this post until his appointment as General Manager of the Lower Saxony City Council as successor to Wolfgang Schrödter in 2006. His successor there was Jan Arning .

On November 22nd, 2017, Heiger Scholz was appointed State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equality by Minister Carola Reimann in the course of the formation of the Weil II cabinet . He thus became the successor to Jörg Röhmann .

Scholz has been married since 1993.
