The Ehard III cabinet formed the state government of the Free State of Bavaria from December 18, 1950 to December 14, 1954 . After the election to the 2nd Bavarian State Parliament on November 26, 1950, in which the CSU won only one seat more in the state parliament than the SPD , the incumbent Prime Minister Hans Ehard had to form a grand coalition of the CSU and the SPD. The two parties together had 127 of the 204 seats in the state parliament.

Ehard was elected Prime Minister in the state parliament session on December 18, 1950 and sworn in together with a rump cabinet. The other ministers and state secretaries were sworn in on January 3, 1951.

After the state elections in 1954 , it was followed by the Hoegner II government .
