Willi Guthsmuths

Willi Guthsmuths (born November 13, 1901 in Berlin ; † February 3, 1981 in Ottobrunn ) was a German economist , spatial planner and politician ( GB / BHE ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school, Guthsmuths first worked as an electrical fitter and then took up a degree in technology and business administration ( Berlin Business School ), which he completed with a degree in business administration and a doctorate . He then worked as a university assistant in the fields of craft and industry. Guthsmuths was a consultant in the Reichskuratorium für Wirtschaftlichkeit and member of various planning commissions and planning committees of the Reichsarbeitsgemeinschaft für Raumforschung . Later he worked as a manager in the energy industry and in mining , from 1941 to 1945 as director of the Sudetenland mining company in Brüx .

Guthsmuths worked after the Second World War as an accountant in an export and wholesale company, which he later took over management. In addition, he was involved in expellee organizations and was a leader in the Witikobund . Guthsmuths has been a lecturer in business policy at the University of Munich since 1956 (since 1968 also honorary professor ). Since 1959 Guthsmuths was a full member of the Academy for Spatial Research and Regional Planning in Hanover. From 1970 onwards he worked as a lecturer at the University of Vienna and as a visiting professor for "Space and Energy" at the University of Innsbruck (from 1972).

Political party

Guthsmuths had been a member of the NSDAP since 1931 . After 1945 he first joined the new citizens' union and in the 1950s then joined the all -German bloc / union of expellees and disenfranchised (GB / BHE). Later he was chairman of the GB / BHE district association of Upper Bavaria and since 1955 Bavarian state chairman. In 1957 he was elected deputy federal chairman of the GB / BHE. Since 1961 he was a member of the GDP , where he also acted as deputy federal chairman.

MP

Guthsmuths was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1950 to 1962 . He rejected his mandate in the German Bundestag , which he had won in the 1953 Bundestag election , because of the government office in Bavaria. In the elections in 1957 and 1961 , he missed entry into the Bundestag as the Bavarian top candidate for GB / BHE and GDP, because his party failed at the five percent hurdle .

Public offices

Guthsmuths served from December 18, 1950 to December 11, 1962 as State Secretary in the State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Transport in the ministerial presidents Hans Ehard ( Cabinet Ehard III , IV ), Wilhelm Hoegner ( Cabinet Hoegner II ) and Hanns Seidel ( Cabinet Seidel I. , II ) governed governments of the Free State of Bavaria . In the ministry he was head of state planning . Guthsmuths contributed to the Bavarian State Planning Act (1957) and the Bavarian State Development Program . In his role as State Secretary he played a key role in organizing the German Transport Exhibition in 1953 .
