Friedrich Zietsch

Friedrich Zietsch (born November 26, 1903 in Heidelberg , † September 21, 1976 in Munich ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from secondary school in Baden-Baden in 1919 , Zietsch completed an apprenticeship in banking. He worked from 1921 to 1924 as a bank clerk and from 1924 to 1932 as an association manager, most recently in Selb in Upper Franconia . In the meantime, he continued his education at the Academy of Labor in Frankfurt am Main . During the time of National Socialism he worked as a merchant in a health food store in Hof . In 1961 Zietsch was elected President of the German League for Human Rights . The German author Uschi Zietsch is his daughter.

Political party

Zietsch had been a member of the SPD since 1925.

In 1946 Zietsch was a member of the Bavarian State Constituent Assembly. He was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1946 to 1966 , where he had been managing director of the SPD parliamentary group from 1951. In 1949 he was also a member of the first federal assembly as a delegate of the Bavarian state parliament .

Public offices

Zietsch held office from 1946 to 1948 as district administrator for the Münchberg district ( Upper Franconia ). In June 1951, he was appointed Bavarian Minister of Finance to the state government of Bavaria led by Prime Minister Hans Ehard and was also a member of the subsequent government led by Prime Minister Wilhelm Hoegner . In October 1957 he was replaced in this office by Rudolf Eberhard .
