Konrad Pöhner

Konrad Pöhner (born July 24, 1901 in Bayreuth ; † September 24, 1974 there ) was a German entrepreneur, association president and politician of the CSU , who served as Finance Minister of the Free State of Bavaria from 1964 to 1970 in the Goppel I and Goppel II cabinets .

Life

Konrad Pöhner came from a Bayreuth building contractor family. In 1923 he took over from his father Eberhard Pöhner the company founded by his grandfather, the Eberhard Pöhner Company for Building and Civil Engineering GmbH , also known as Pöhner quality construction . In addition to his entrepreneurial activity, Pöhner acted as President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Upper Franconia in Bayreuth. From 1958 until his death he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . From 1962 he was State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture. On June 24, 1964, Pöhner was appointed as the successor to Rudolf Eberhard Deputy Prime Minister and Bavarian Minister of Finance . In Bayreuth he joined the Masonic Lodge Eleusis to maintain secrecy .

From 1947 to 1958 Pöhner was a member of the Bavarian Senate .
