Albert Füracker (born February 3, 1968 in Parsberg ) is a German politician ( CSU ). He has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 2008 . Füracker has been Bavarian Minister of Finance and Home Affairs since March 21, 2018 , initially in the Söder I cabinet and in the Söder II cabinet since November 2018 .

Education and family

Füracker, who comes from the Lupburg district of Degerndorf, attended grammar school in Parsberg up to secondary school leaving certificate . He then completed vocational training as a farmer . This was followed by further training as a state-certified technician for agriculture and the takeover of his parents' farm. Füracker is Roman Catholic, married and has four children.

politics

Füracker was and is active in local politics in various offices, including since 1990 as a councilor in his home town of Lupburg and as a district councilor in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate . From 1997 to 2001 he was Deputy State Chairman of the Junge Union in Bavaria. From 2002 to 2011 he was Deputy Mayor of Lupburg and from 2002 to 2014 Deputy District Administrator. He held the CSU district chair from 2005 until his election as district chair in 2015. From 2006 to 2015 he was also the chairman of the CSU federal constituency.

He has been a member of the state parliament since 2008 , he represents the district of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz ( Upper Palatinate ).

From 2009 to 2013 Füracker was chairman of the state parliament committee for food, agriculture and forestry. From 2012 to 2013 he was a member of the Commission for Parliamentary Monitoring of the Energy Transition .

On October 9, 2013, Prime Minister Horst Seehofer appointed him State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance, Regional Development and Homeland . On July 18, 2015, Füracker was elected CSU district chairman of the Upper Palatinate, as the successor to Emilia Müller .

On March 21, 2018, he was appointed Minister of Finance by the new Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder . Füracker succeeds Söder in his previous office.

On July 27, 2018, he was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Nürnberg GmbH .

In the course of the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 , he was confirmed in his office as Minister of State for Finance by the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder on November 12, 2018 .
