Judith Gerlach (born November 3, 1985 in Würzburg ) is a German politician ( CSU ) and since November 12, 2018 Bavarian State Minister for Digital .

Career

Gerlach is the granddaughter of the CSU politician Paul Gerlach . She studied law and passed the first state examination with distinction in 2010. After her legal clerkship in Würzburg, she passed the second state examination in 2013 and then worked as a freelance lawyer in Aschaffenburg.

She is the deputy district chairwoman of the Junge Union Aschaffenburg and a member of the local executive committee of the CSU in the Schweinheim district of Aschaffenburg . In the 2013 state elections , she entered the Bavarian state parliament via the list in the Lower Franconia constituency . At the constituent session of the 17th Bavarian State Parliament on October 7, 2013, she was secretary together with Katharina Schulze (B'90 / Greens) as one of the two youngest MPs.

In the state elections in 2018 , she received the direct mandate for the constituency Aschaffenburg-Ost with 40.2% .

Gerlach is a Roman Catholic denomination.
