Heidi Happy (* 1980 as Priska Zemp in Dagmersellen , Canton Lucerne ) is a Swiss pop musician . It moves between chanson , jazz , folk and small chamber music .

Childhood, youth

Priska Zemp grew up in a musical family. Her mother is a soprano, her father sings in various choirs. At the age of six she learned the piano from her mother, and at the age of nine she took cello lessons . While she attended the canton school in Sursee , she took part in the school's orchestra. For the band Funktasy she wrote lyrics with the keyboard player, composed her own vocal melodies and sometimes the brass parts. Zemp trained to be a teacher and trained as a piano. During this time she took singing lessons from her mother, later at the Lucerne Jazz School .

Career

From the end of the 90s Priska Zemp sang in several, mostly unknown music groups such as Funktasy, Protonic, Prishilla, Khushi and Superterz. In April 2005 she started a solo career under the name Heidi Happy. At the end of 2006 she won a work grant from the culture commission of the canton and the city of Lucerne. She used this for the production of the first album Back Together (March 23, 2007). In addition, she was honored with a prize in the Swiss Top Competition from DRS 3 . After a few dozen concerts since the album was released in Switzerland and abroad ( Germany , Austria , Netherlands ), their new single Fulltime Running from the album Flowers, Birds and Home , which was released at the end of October 2008, was released in September 2008 .

Priska Zemp originally moved to Amsterdam to attend a school for video , animation and music - the city has (as of 2008) become a second home for her. She produces on the Little Jig Records label.

She sang as a guest musician three songs on the album appeared in 2009 Touch Yello by Yello .
