Reinhard Brandl (born August 1, 1977 in Ingolstadt ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

After graduating from the Willibald Gymnasium in Eichstätt , Brandl did his military service in the Air Force in Manching-Oberstimm. He then began studying at the University of Karlsruhe , which he completed in 2003 with a degree in industrial engineering. He also graduated from the French Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble as Ingénieur en génie industriel. Brandl received his doctorate in 2007 from the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich .

In 2009 Brandl won the direct mandate in the Ingolstadt constituency in the 2009 Bundestag election with 57.2% of the first votes. In the federal election in 2013 , he was with 61.5% in the general election in 2017 re-elected with 49.5%. His predecessor as MP was the CSU chairman and Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer from 1980 to 2008 . Reinhard Brandl is a full member of the Defense Committee , the Budget Committee and the trust committee for the secret budgets of the federal intelligence services . He is also a deputy member of the Committee on European Union Affairs .

Brandl is deputy state chairman in CSUnet . In addition, he leads the Working Group foreign and security policy to the CSU technical committee Security Policy and Vice President of the Society for Security Policy (GSP).

Reinhard Brandl has been on the board of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since 2019 .
