Markus Pannermayr

Markus Pannermayr (born May 28, 1971 in Straubing ) is a German local politician of the CSU . He is Lord Mayor of the Lower Bavarian city of Straubing.

Life

Pannermayr was already politically active in his school days as the student representative of the Straubing Ludwigsgymnasium and district chairman of the Junge Union . After graduating from high school, he studied biology and chemistry for teaching at grammar schools at the University of Regensburg . From 1997 he taught at the Comenius Gymnasium in Deggendorf .

Pannermayr has been a member of the city council of Straubing since 1996. In May 2002 he was elected the city's third mayor. In 2004 he was a member of the 12th Federal Assembly .

In his party, Pannermayr holds the functions of the chairman of the Straubing-Stadt district association and the deputy chairman of the Lower Bavaria district association . In the local elections in March 2008 , he prevailed in a runoff election against incumbent Reinhold Perlak , after he was just behind in the first ballot. He took up his post as Lord Mayor of Straubing on May 1, 2008. In March 2014 he was re-elected with 75% of the vote.

In the local elections on March 15, 2020 , he was re-elected in the first ballot with 73.25 percent. Markus Pannermyr became the new chairman of the Bay at the 56th General Assembly of the Bavarian Association of Cities on July 15, 2020. City days chosen. He succeeds the outgoing chairman Dr. Kurt Gribl .

Pannermayr is married and has two children.
