Otto Höchtl

Otto Höchtl (* July 20, 1887 ; † December 25, 1959 ) was a German administrative lawyer and local politician.

Career

The doctor of law was from 1919 legal counsel for the city of Straubing . In 1932 he was elected Lord Mayor. After the National Socialists came to power, he was deposed in 1933 because he did not seem politically reliable enough, but remained second mayor. On July 3, 1948, the citizens of Straubing re-elected the non-party Höchtl mayor, he remained in office until his death. He died of a stroke on Christmas Day 1959.
